The 2007 Kia Rio received minor changes over its predecessor and it was more or less a carryover from 2006 Rio. As far as the design and exterior styling is concerned, there weren’t any many major changes, though an additional SX trim level was launched in the line-up of Rio sedan series. Basically, it was an addition to the LX trim, having similar specs as that of the Rio5 SX.

Engine and Transmission

The engine power, transmission and chassis design remained unaltered, while extra luxury and safety features like additional airbags were added to the 2007 Kia Rio. Even its successor, the 2008 Rio was almost an unchanged version of the 2006 Rio, with the announcement of LX trim for the Rio5 being the only noteworthy change in its line-up.

Exclusive Rio5 SX Tuner

Moreover, it was interesting to learn that few limited edition Rio5 SX Tuner model vehicles were produced for the Canadian market exclusively, which wasn’t a huge success though. These special editions were offered with special Eibach lowering springs, Falken FK452 tires, Tanabe strut tower brace and several other features, which were not to be seen on the regular Rio models.

Overall, the 2007 Rio marked the starting of production of the latest generation Rio models with all modern amenities including satellite radio, ABS, and all the needful safety as well as luxury features. As far as the pricing goes, the 2007 Kia Rio was again a very reasonable deal.
